Nine U.S. senators (a bipartisan group, no less) wants the Senate panel with jurisdiction over the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) to advance the legislation to the floor by a committee vote.  It’s long overdue, of that we can all agree.

ENDA, the Employment Non-Discrimination Act, is a proposed bill in the United States Congress that seeks to prohibit discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity in hiring and employment by civilian, nonreligious employers with at least 15 employees.

Congress has been considering the measure since 1994 in every session with the exception of the 109th.
